No one can say Yvette Houston Bing lives well solely because she's married to Dave Bing, LED Spotlights the basketball star turned businessman, now mayor, who's trying Waterproof LED light to jump-start the UFO LED grow lights Motor City.

In the vernacular of the west-side streets where the first lady grew up, "Girlfriend got it going on" all by herself.

Known as one of those smart, pretty girls, Yvette Bing graduated from Mackenzie High in 1972 near the top of her class. She earned a degree from Wayne State University in physical therapy and keeps her license current. She works full-time running a commercial cleaning business in Southfield, which she and her husband acquired together in 1988.

"My dad especially wanted us to be able to take care of ourselves and not depend on a man," said Bing, recalling her upbringing under the watchful eyes of her working-class parents, Alonzo and Annie Houston. "I've worked since I was 15 years old. I've always had my own income."
